Marketing Director

About the Role:
We're building a scalable digital marketing engine to complement our proven high-touch telesales model. As OWN IT’s first Marketing Director, you will lead the strategy and execution of high-impact content that builds long-term brand equity, drives lead generation, and positions Justin Roethlingshoefer and OWN IT as the leading voices in health optimization for elite business leaders.
This is not a “make it pretty” role—it’s a mission-critical, full-stack creative leadership position for someone who is equally strategic and hands-on.
Success in this role will require a content-first approach across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Email), strong digital marketing strategy experience (including funnel development, websites, and landing pages), and exceptional lead generation capabilities to support a telesales-driven model.
Responsibilities:
1. Brand Leadership
- Translate our messaging framework, client voice research, and brand differentiators into scroll-stopping content.
- Evolve and protect brand visual identity and ensure it remains aligned with our mission and market position.
- Direct and produce brand and testimonial videos, ensuring high emotional resonance with our avatar, “Successful Sam.”
2. Content & Creative Strategy
- Lead and evolve a hub-and-spoke content strategy across YouTube, podcast, newsletter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and blog.
- Direct content calendars aligned to brand campaigns, launches, and sales objectives.
- Lead brand-aligned content ideation, production, and repurposing systems across long-form (YouTube, podcast) and short-form (Reels, Shorts, Stories).
- Ensure consistency in voice, tone, style, and design across all platforms.
- Integrate testimonials, case studies, data visuals, and before-after stories to support trust-building and credibility.
3. Creative Team Leadership
- Lead and scale a small but mighty team of video editors, designers, content writers, and contractors.
- Manage timelines, tools (ClickUp, Notion, etc.), and review/approval systems to ensure high-volume, high-quality output.
- Act as final gatekeeper for brand tone and creative excellence.
4. Performance-Driven Creative Execution
- Drive leads and nurture them through creative storytelling, DMs, CTAs, and email automation.
- Create an organic content strategy focused on audience growth & engagement.
- Build and optimize funnels, quizzes, VSLs, lead magnets, and retargeting sequences.
- Oversee the creation of newsletters and nurture sequences that educate, inspire, and convert.
- Collaborate closely with our Sales Team to ensure marketing content translates into qualified, high-intent booked calls.
5. Campaigns & Paid Media
- Collaborate on the development and execution of full-funnel paid strategies, including cold audience acquisition and retargeting.
- Design and test creatives for paid channels (Meta, YouTube, Google, LI).
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience leading creative teams or projects within high-performing digital brands—experience in health, wellness, or personal branding is a strong plus.
- Mastery in brand storytelling, design, video production, and social content creation.
- Deep understanding of YouTube, podcasting, email, and paid social creative best practices.
- Proven ability to work in both visionary and executor modes—strategic and hands-on.
- Experience creating and optimizing full-funnel digital assets, including lead magnets, nurture sequences, VSLs, and retargeting campaigns.
- Comfort using data to inform creative decisions and improve engagement, conversion, and retention metrics.
- Skilled at developing and refining brand messaging frameworks and ideal client avatars for content alignment and conversion.
