Area Account Executive

We’re seeking a driven and dynamic Area Account Executive to fuel group and banquet revenue across three premier hotels by proactively soliciting new accounts, fostering strong relationships with existing clients, and creating memorable guest experiences through strategic sales efforts.
Marcus Hotels & Resorts, the leading hotel ownership and management company in Milwaukee, is seeking an Area Account Executive to drive business for three of the city’s most iconic properties: the Hilton Milwaukee – A premier convention headquarters hotel; the Pfister Hotel – A recently renovated, historic luxury hotel; and Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel – A vibrant, creative hub for the arts and events. With a total of 1,255 guest rooms and over 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space, this role offers the opportunity to secure high-value business, cultivate lasting client relationships, and contribute to the continued success of these landmark hotels.
What You Will Do:
- Develop & Manage Key Relationships – Cultivate partnerships with National Associations, Government, and Citywide Conventions to drive group business.
- Drive Revenue Growth – Identify new business opportunities and implement strategic sales efforts to maximize revenue.
- Client Engagement & Travel – Solicit new group business through client meetings, calls, and 8-12 annual travel trips across the U.S. (1-4 nights each).
- Event Sales & Coordination – Conduct property site experiences, promote hotel services, and collaborate with internal teams for seamless event execution.
- Contracting & Documentation – Draft and manage contracts, BEOs, addendums, proposals, and group billing while ensuring accurate tracking in Delphi.
- Communication & Reporting – Maintain group forecasts, submit weekly sales reports, and coordinate with hotel departments for group servicing.
- Industry Networking & Trade Shows – Represent hotels at trade shows, off-site events, and build strong partnerships with convention visitor bureaus.
- Customer Service & Professionalism – Promptly respond to client inquiries, attend internal meetings, and uphold hotel standards in all interactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- Previous hospitality/hotel sales experience with knowledge of Delphi, Microsoft Office, and business acumen in revenue areas.
- Possesses a dynamic sales approach and is confident and motivated to drive hospitality sales success.
- Proven sales & negotiation skills with the ability to close deals, network, and market hotel offerings effectively.
- Previous experience with Delphi and possess the ability to maintain accurate records, provide strategic client management, finalize contracts, track leads, multi task, and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Be goal-oriented & data-driven; ability to meet or exceed budgetary goals, maintain a 10% conversion rate, and stay informed on market trends.
- Offer a polished image, adhere to business etiquette, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external guests.
- Willing to travel 8-12 times per year (including overnight stays), conduct local sales calls, and participate in industry/community events.
