Assistant Director Marketing and Communications
The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications will assist the Director in developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications operation to effectively publicize the many programs and services within the Division of Student Affairs using a variety of communications mediums. Primary responsibilities will include: (1) Strategic planning and project management of a variety of marketing and communications functions, including the production of promotional materials (posters, flyers, brochures) for marketing campaigns, publications, presentations, Web sites, videos, social media and display advertising; media relations/placement; and special events and program management (2) Writing, proofreading, and editing for brochures, newsletters, magazines, PowerPoint presentations, press releases, Web sites, display advertisements, and general correspondence for all of the departments within the Division of Student Affairs as well as the Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Students (3) Supervise two full-time direct report staff members, the video production coordinator and the marketing specialist (4) Assist with supervision of all graphic design of marketing communications materials (5) serving as a representative on various working teams and committees within student affairs (6) Coordinating special projects assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications and/or Vice Provost and Dean of Students (7) Participation in divisional programs and events to support the mission and vision of students.
Bachelor’s degree required in communications, journalism, English, marketing, public relations, or related field. Excellent organizational leadership, communication and public relations skills. Ability to work with minimal direct supervision; initiative and willingness to assume responsibility, self motivated.
